From 2021 to the summer of 2026 I was in charge of the ecommerce sites of several jewellers and watch retailers: uptime, maintenance and new features.
The problem
Each house had its own site, and every change had to be redone site by site.
What I built
One shared Laravel / Vue CMS. A feature is built once, then rolled out house by house; each keeps its own instance, database and server.
Shared code contains no condition specific to one house. Templates, colours, typefaces and options stay its own, and teams build their pages from blocks in the back office. A luxury site also sells an image: none should look like a repeated template.
Product sheets are created from the ERP and the PIM, and the advertising catalogs follow with no manual step. The detail is in Product-data flows between ERP, PIM and shops.
How I work
- Tests run in CI once per house.
- Architecture decisions are written as ADRs, versioned with the code.
- Every incident gets a write-up.
- Production is only reachable through AWS SSM.
